Our Training Process
NFI Workplace-Based Training Process
We are committed to providing quality workplace-based training and assessment that is industry-current and relevant.
All our programs are developed in conjunction with industry representatives.
We believe in providing our students with pathways into further employment opportunities as they develop their skills.
Step 1: Preparation and Employer Consultation
We work closely with our clients to identify potential students and address any skill and knowledge gaps in the workplace. The training program is then tailored to meet the needs of both the student and the employer. Students are screened for suitability.
Step 2: Training Plans
A customized training plan is developed to suit both the student and the workplace.
Step 3: Structured Work/On-the-Job Training
Each training plan is delivered using a combination of on-the-job and off-the-job activities, training, and tutoring. Improvement projects are often included.
Step 4: Assessment
Students receive support through tutoring and mentoring in the workplace, ensuring that the training provided is appropriate to their needs.
Step 5: Completion of Training
Once all training and assessment requirements are met to a competent standard, the student is signed off and issued their qualification. This process typically takes 12 months, depending on the workplace and the student's progress. Refer to the course information for specific timeframes.
